COMBED TOP is an extra special processing of washed fleece. The processing removes all noils and short fiber. The resulting product called "WORSTED COMBED TOP" has all the fibers in perfect parallel alignment. When TOP is made there is a great deal of fiber wasted in the process. That accounts for the higher cost of TOP compared to ROVING.
